R129 child car seat manufacturer for brands and distributors
This guide is maintained by a child car seat factory. We develop and manufacture R129 seats for brands, importers and distributors — and know the regulation well enough to write the reference on it.
What we make
| Seat type | Typical R129 range | Category |
|---|---|---|
| Infant carriers (with or without ISOFIX base) | 40 – 87 cm | i-Size / Universal Belted / module + base |
| Rear-facing and convertible seats | 40 – 105 cm | i-Size |
| 360° rotating ISOFIX seats | 40 – 105 cm (+ booster modes) | i-Size |
| Forward-facing harnessed seats | 76 – 105 cm | i-Size / Universal Belted |
| High-back boosters | 100 – 150 cm | i-Size booster seat |
| Booster cushions | 125 – 150 cm | Universal booster cushion |
Ranges are examples of what the regulation allows; each product’s range is fixed by its own approval.
How we work with brands
- Brief. You tell us the categories, stature ranges, markets and price position. We check them against R129 limits — for example the 33 kg ISOFIX mass cap or the 125 cm cushion minimum — before anything is drawn.
- Design or adapt. OEM to your design, or ODM from our platforms with your fabrics, colours and features.
- Pre-testing. Prototype sled tests against the R129 criteria, including misuse configurations, before the formal approval tests.
- Approval. We prepare the technical dossier, drawings, label artwork, manuals and packaging notices (§3, §4, §14) and support testing at the Technical Service.
- Production qualification & CoP. Five-seat production qualification, then ongoing conformity of production with traceable batches.
- Market launch. Multi-language manuals, the digital user guide with QR code, and packaging that meets each market’s rules.
Why buy from a factory that writes about R129
- Fewer approval surprises. Labels, belt-route colours, packaging notices and manuals are right first time.
- Range planning that saves testing. We plan stature ranges against the Q-dummy bands so you do not pay for test configurations you don’t need.
- Deadline awareness. Products are developed to the current 04 series, ahead of the 1 September 2026 and 2027 cut-offs.
Who we work with
Juvenile-product brands, importers and distributors, retailers developing private label, and automotive accessory companies. Tell us your market and we’ll tell you what an R129 programme looks like.
